As an educator of mainly immigrants, a mother and a human being I can't help but be deeply moved by the plight of the parents and their children at the border. The trauma that is being inflicted on these families is irreversible and indefensible. Thank you for your donations and your efforts to make your voice heard.
A few ways we can get involved:

Two wonderful local business, @tablewineshop and @curtisandcake are hosting "Cookies for Calls" at the Table Wine shop (2045 Atwood Ave. No. 111, Madison, WI 53704) on Monday, June 25 from 5-8pm. More info on the event: "A last minute executive order replaces one crisis for another. How are we caring for the children who have already been separated from their parents? How do we ensure that mass immigrant family detentions don't become the norm? We have to speak up for the people who need a voice. It's time to call our representatives and let them know that we won't allow people from any country to be treated this way. Join Curtis & Cake and Table Wine this Monday from 5-7:30 to join together to make calls. Everyone who calls their reps in the shop during that time can choose a special house pour or a fresh baked cookie for their efforts. We’ll have scripts, numbers, wine specials, and lots of supportive energy too. Join us!"
